In 2009, the first Dakota Butcher store was founded in Clark, South Dakota. It was a family-owned business then, and remains one today.
Dakota Butcher has grown to six locations. One in Clark, Madison, Pierre and Rapid City with two locations in Watertown, SD. Our Watertown East location is home of the Dakota Butcher Steakhouse.

Whether it’s a family cookout, a holiday meal, or just a Tuesday night dinner, our four stores serve up top-quality meats, handmade pizza, to-go meals, smoked meats, catering services, grocery items and alcoholic beverages of all types.
Dakota Butcher continues to be very active in all the communities we businesses in.We continue to work with South Dakota's Sportsmen Against Hunger Program. We use our facility to promote this GF&P's program by takin in deer and geese. We then debone, grind and bag it up for the local food bank.
Dakota Butcher is proud to support the 2023 PDR Youth Hunt! PDR Youth Hunt is an annual all-expense paid weekend deer camp held in Clark exclusively for disabled hunters ages 12 to 18. While the hunters enjoy the adventure of an authentic South Dakota big game hunt, the “I think I can” attitude grows in confidence with every trigger-pull evolving into a happily surprised “Why yes, I sure can!” that is part of the transition and growth that happens at the PDR Hunt.
Dakota Butcher also is a supporter of the Clark County Pro Pheasants organization. In 2018 we received their highest award given to a local supporter.
